Altered Prima Cartographer Trunk

Hello again Crafty Friends, how are you all today???

Today I'm sharing another altered project using Prima Cartographer. A funny story to share about my trunk. I bought all of the paper from my local stockist and realised half way through that I wasn't going to have enough. After searching locally to get more with no luck I then had to put a Facebook post out to all my Aussie friends in the hope someone would have spare. again, no luck, even tried Australia wide shops and couldn't get this paper anywhere!!!! So I had to improvise, the back is made of up all the scraps, collage style but i won't be showing it to you ;-).

Apologies for the photo quality, the trunk is large so very awkward to get a good photo of it in my light box. Normally i would take it outside but rain prevented it.

The trunk when I bought it was bright pink with the cutest owls all over it. I started off by giving the leather and studs a coat of gesso. I then used Jo Sonja's paint in Raw Umber to get the colour I wanted. I hand painted all the studs with a gold metallic paint.

The little chipboard frame below is from Dusty Attic and was heat embossed using Tim Holtz embossing powder. I cut an oval shape from my paper and added a Prima Cartographer chipboard piece.

I threaded some Finnabair Mechanicals buttons through brown ribbon.

I cut  a piece of the balloon paper and attached it to the Dusty Attic 3D balloon chipboard. The chipboard was heat embossed and then I added some chipboard bunting. To finish off the bottom corner I added some gorgeous Cartographer flowers and a chipboard postcard.

More Cartographer flowers and a little chipboard piece from the range finished my trunk off.

I love my Cartographer trunk. Frank Garcia did an amazing job with his debut paper line, totally sold out in Australia!!!

I will be back tomorrow with another project, this one completely different!

Until next time, Jen xxxx
