Hello again friends, I am so excited today to be able to share my very first project for brand new chipboard company Your Creative Wings!

The range of chipboard that owner Audrey Underwood had created is truly amazing. The quality and designs are fantastic with some spectacular plans for future designs. Keep an eye on the Facebook page to be kept updated. There is a raffle in the works and I will be having a giveaway here on my blog so watch this space!!!

I have wanted to art journal for so long and when I received my DT pack there were some pieces that were perfect for my journal cover. I am not an artist, I can't draw or paint portraits so my journal will be a weekly adventure into trying new products, exploring new techniques and using collage, quotes and photographs in a creative way. I hope you can join me in this new adventure.

First I will show you the cover and then go onto some close ups. The metallics were difficult to get a good, clear shot in the full photo but I collect my new DSLR tomorrow so this will improve next time.

I primed my journal cover with a layer of Liquitex Gesso. I used the Kaisercraft flourish stencil with Wendy Vecchi for Studio 490 texture paste. I then went a little bit crazy with metallics!

I used the Mini Art Is stencil and blended in Twinkling H20's from Luminarte. On the chipboard titles I used metallic green embossing powder from Lindy's Stamp Gang.

As some of you know I love angels and angel wings. The chipboard wings are amazing and fantastic to work with.

I hand dyed some lace trim using various Lindy's Stamp Gang mists to get the desired colour and added a tim Holtz Ideaology Tag.

I soaked the tips of the chipboard wings in water for a few minutes then used tweezers to separate the sections. I painted them in metallic gold and purple with a touch of silver in the middle. The heart in the middle is made of pewter and I added some gold paint to blend it in.

I added a pewter rose to the bottom. I made these some time ago and love them. I then added some handmade tiny roses which I coloured with my Twinkling H20's.

Thanks for joining  me today, I had a lot of fun creating this journal cover using Your Creative Wings chipboard. Be sure to pop over to the website here and have a browse at the fantastic selection!

I will be creating an art journal page weekly so watch this space for my first one at the end of the week.

Until next time, Jen xxxx
