Bright, Bold Colours...

Hi everyone, it's been a while!!!

Over the past couple of months I have been messing around with mixed media. I've been bitten by the art journalling bug and having so much fun playing around with loads of different paints and mediums.

Today I want to share a canvas that I created. Layers upon layers of paint, loads of texture, stencilling, doodling and embellishing. I love the way it turned out and can't wait to make more. The colour scheme also complimented the Dusty Attic mood board for March so I decided at the last minute, yes now, to enter.

Believe it or not the whole inspiration for my canvas came from these Dusty Attic "Funky Flowers". As soon as I received them, the idea was planted (pardon the pun). I knew I wanted to paint them in bright, beautiful colours and the canvas idea was born.

I also used one of the Dusty Attic borders.

My happy girls were created using A Stencil Girls stencil. My background was created using an Artists Cellar stencil and the title was created using a Donna Downey stencil.

Yes, I am a stencil addict, this one is Tim Holtz and the bird is Prima.

Layers and layers of Dina Wakley heavy body acrylic paints and fabrics to create texture. I also used texture paste.

I painted my metal embellishments with Ranger Vintag Patina. The flowers were loose one's I had in my stash. In fact I bought them from the lovely Jen Hedger, owner of Dusty Attic.

Thanks for popping in today. I've got some altered art pieces and an art journal page to share this week :-).
