Art Anthology art journal page

Hi again everyone, today I am going to share my first ever art journal page!!!!

I have really been bitten by the art journalling bug and had so much fun creating this page for Art Anthology. My Dream Team supplies have been held up because of a dockers strike in the US so this was my first play with the new Dylusions paints designed by Dyan Reavley for Ranger.

I loved this image and quote when I saw it on Pinterest and it was perfect for what I had in mind. I started by using strips of scrapbook paper to create some texture. I then used layers and layers of paint blending with my fingers and a brush.

I used a Prima stencil for the background and some texture paste. I then painted over the paste and doodled round the edges.

I used the Prima angel wings stencil designed by Jamie Dougherty and sketched it onto card stock. I then painted it with Finnabair for Prima gold crackle texture paste and added some Finnabair glass glitter. I also used a Crafters Workshop stencil in the corners, again with the Finnabair gold texture paste.

I printed the quote onto plain paper then adhered onto chipboard. I added some rub ons.

I printed Nelson's face onto plain paper and also adhered to chipboard and cut out. I lightly painted over it with Gesso and then doodled in his featured with a Faber Castell brush pen.
