Hi everyone, I'm back today with another creation for Art Anthology. Our theme this month is quotes that give you mental strength and empowerment. I decided to create an art journal page for this theme.
I'm relatively new to art journalling so don't normally share my pages but I'm becoming more addicted by the day so promise to share more.
So onto my page....
I'll run you through my creative process. I started by prepping my page. Masking tape in the centre to prevent leakage then a coat of Gesso. I then added a coat of Art Anthology paint, using both a brush and a brayer to add texture.
I added a combination of browns, purples and yellow paint to the edges, then using a mist let it run to the centre.
I used my Art Anthology bubble, butterfly and quote stencils with modelling paste in both black and white.
I then painted the bubbles with some bright colours.
I outlined my bubbles in white and added some detailing to my butterflies and the inspired stencil. Some of my favourite quotes were added to the edges in white pen. I added some brown paint to the centre and another Art Anthology swirl stencil.
I used my favourite Tim Holtz quote stamp with black archival ink onto vintage newspaper.
If you look closely at the magazine paper you will see it's in French. I got this from a vintage group and it dates back to 1932 :-). The stamp is by Donna Downey Studios for Unity and I added some detailing with Finnabair for Prima glass glitter, gold paint and more of my Art Anthology paint.
Hope you like my art journal page. I will be back in a few days to share some more creations.
