Remember - UOAS April 2014

Hi Crafty Friends, hope that you are all well.

The first thing I have to do is apologise for the photo quality in this post.

This month has been a technology disaster zone for me. First my camera had to be replaced, then yesterday my laptop decided that the USB ports would stop working. So, everything is behind and all my posting is running late.  I managed to borrow a Macbook tonight to post my challenges for this month whilst my Windows laptop gets repaired. Takes a bit of getting used too!!!

My first challenge today is for Once Upon a Sketch. I am hoping that my entry will still be included because as I type this the closing time for entries is 30 minutes away.

I haven't entered OUAS for quite some time but this month I was drawn to it because I really loved the therme, "An Event that changed my Life".  Here is the sketch that we had to work with:

For anyone that knows me personally, the date and theme for "An event that changed my life" will be known to you.

I used papers from Scrapberry's, I loved the pastel tones to this paper. I gave it a coat of Gesso to tone down the colours slightly.

I used the Prima peacock feather mask with texture paste to compliment my theme.
I then used inks and Twinkling H20's to add some more colour.

I love this Dusty Attic chipboard heart, it really seemed to compliment the photos. Speaking of photos, the images were taken from Pinterest and are plain white feathers to signify angel wings. I also added some feather on the layout along with some medical gauze for added texture.

The resin angel is from Prima, as are all the pretty pastel flowers. I used dies from both Couture Creations and Memory Box throughout the layout. The little envelope is from Websters Pages. The stamp inside was one I purchased a long time ago when I lived in the US. It reads "Nothing is harder than saying goodbye to someone you love". I have also added more personal journalling on the back of the layout.

The mask is from Heidi Swapp and I used texture paste and Tim Holtz inks to add some colour.

I hope that you like my take on the OUAS theme and sketch. I put a lot of emotion into it and love the way it turned out.

Thanks for coming to visit and huge apologies for photo quality, like i said technology disaster zone here at the moment ;-)
