Hi everyone, been a house full of sickness the last few weeks. I had tonsillitis and my old son had a viral infection. Luckily, we are on the mend now and I can have the opportunity to blog again.
After seeing some of my crafty friends creations on Facebook I decided that I wanted to start an art journal. I decided to use an old Smash book that I haver used but it needed a facelift. It tied in nicely with the Prima PPP for March and the colour selection made me look at my masses of Prima papers in my stash.
Green isn't a colour that I use a lot, not sure why because I love it. I found a prefect paper from an older range Firefly which was perfect for this months challenge.
I used my favourite Prima mask on the front of my journal. this has to be the most used mask in my collection and I have loads. I used texture paste, Shimmerz sprays, and water colour pencils to create the colour effect.
I lightly stamped the Prima chip board piece and sprayed my resist canvas Inspire title with more Shimmerz. I really need to get my hands on some of the new Prima sprays. The Prima wood keyhole was inked with Tim Holtz distress inks, as were the keys. I added some lace that I got from my Finnabair workshop last year and sprayed with some mist. The large chipboard piece is from 2 Crafty chipboard and I heat embossed it to get the metallic effect.
I added a beautiful fairy from Jodie Lee's Fairy Rhymes collection and a wood button. Lots of beautiful Prima flowers finished the side off. If you look closely I also added a gorgeous Prima crystal stick pin that I have had in my stash for ages.
I used my Crop-a-Dile to punch some holes then glued some more chipboard from the Firefly collection on to the spine. I added some green ribbon and brads to finish it off.
I hand stitched round the edges and added some hand dyed lace to finish the journal off.
Thanks for visiting me today, I hope you like my art journal. I am looking forward to sharing my progress on the inside once I get it started :-).
