Christmas Angel - 7 Dots style

Hi everyone and Happy Hogmanay to all of you!!!!

Hope you had a fantastic Christmas and Santa was good to you. I also want to take this opportunity to wish you a wonderful New Year. May 2015 bring you health, love and happiness !!

Today I am sharing my last 2 projects of 2014 for The Scrapbook Store and yes I am cutting it fine this month.

I have love, love, loved working with the gorgeous 7 Dots Studio Destination Unknown collection. My favourite colour is teal, so this was just perfect. I have found myself being more drawn to grungy paper lines recently and it certainly brings out my more creative side.

First up is an altered Christmas angel. I had intended to post this last week but well schools out and getting time with my 9 year old who has special needs has proven difficult.

The first photo shows what my paper mache angel looked like before I started. I forgot to take a photo of her with her original arms and head. Let's just say they were really ugly. I decapited her and removed her arms and added a new head and arms from a vintage doll.  The photo was taken with my tablet so not the best.

And here she is all finished :-)

I used the gorgeous Celestial and Under the Stars papers from the collection. I folded them until I was happy with the dress shape and used a Martha Stewart punch on the edges.

I picked up the little bid from a local shop, she needed something glittery to hold.

I used the Tim Holtz Idealology Tiding Tokens to hand from her hand.

Tinsel and tulle added to the bottom. I also used Ranger Stickles in Silver to add some texture to the punched edging.

The Christmas ribbon I picked up from the local supermarket and the angel tassle is Ingvild Bolme for Prima Marketing.

The recycled from another doll and I adhered each individual strand in place. A tinsel halo finished off her head.

The wings are made of turkey feathers.

Hope you like her, I was really pleased with the way she turned out. I will be entering her into the 7 Dots December challenge - The holiday Spirit. Tusia asked on the 7 dots blog to include holiday traditions. On Christmas Eve we always have new pyjamas to wear. We also sprinkle glitter and oatmeal on the front lawn so that the reindeers can find us.
