Game of Thrones Fabric Journal

Hi everyone, hope you are all looking forward to the weekend. 

I decided to post something a little different today. I am finding myself playing around more and more with fabrics as well as paper. I just love the texture and effect it brings to my creations. My 23 year old daughter is a huge Game of Thrones fan and her favourite character is Khaleesi, Mother of Dragons. She lives in Scotland and I knew I wanted to create something special for her. My husband was taking a trip back home and there were a few items I sent back with him for her.

I created this journal using a gold and pale blue brocade fabric. 

I printed the image of Khaleesi using Artists Transfer Paper and ironed it onto white cotton.  I added some trim, some bling and some Prima flowers in a co-coordinating colour.

I used Artist Transfer paper on cream cotton for the title but then went over it with my own hand writing to give it a more personalised effect. 

I added an ornate fastener mean't for clothing to open and close the journal.

A little vintage chain was added to give it a bit of detail.

The journal was originally wire bound but I took all the wiring out and used leather jewellery strapping to  give it a better effect.

The final touches were some charms for the binding.
