The main reason I started scrap booking in 2012 was to preserve memories of my children and family life in general. I imagined it was all cutting up paper and gluing it together. How wrong was I !! I learned the basics at my local scrap store Tomorrow's Memories and have only really been creating myself for the last 6 months. I have learned so much from the internet and am so inspired by a handful of artists whose work is just amazing. Pinterest has been a fantastic learning tool and I am so glad that I discovered it. I has led to making some really great friends. I have never been artistic. I haven't held a paintbrush since primary school and even then I was terrible. I am discovering an artistic side to me that I never knew existed and I am loving it. Hence the blog name My Creative Journey.

So, on that note, here is the layout that kept me wakened until the small hours. I had seen another artist paint blending a photo and decided to give it a try! I would never have dreamed of doing this 1 year ago..  I used water colour paints to blend, texture paste for the waves, and mounted it on a piece of cardboard to give it a white wash, beach effect. The photo was taken in Esperance, WA in January this year and I brought back a little bag of sand and some shells hoping to one day make a layout with it. Hope you like my first creation with paint!!!
